What’s New — ARC Library Field Notes

One permanent, readable article for every customer-facing ARC Library release.

  • Track Your Applications & the Author Portal — New author names now correct obvious lowercase words before they join the catalogue. Approval Desk also repairs older pending names and adopts trusted book-database casing without treating the author as a different person.
  • A Fresh New Look — The Library's filter row now shows All Books plus just the filters you've starred; tap "More" to see everything else with live counts and a ★ next to each one.
  • Reliability Sweep — Your library scrolls smoother and uses less data: covers now load only as they come into view, and the built-in placeholder covers are much lighter. Same cozy shelves, quicker to appear.
  • Personal Books Fix — Fixed personal (non-ARC) books briefly showing a “Requested formats” row instead of their versions. Your own books are back to normal: the version switcher is always available, and requested formats only appear on ARCs you've applied for.
  • Fortune Teller Theme — Its night sky comes alive, gold stars twinkle and drift, link themselves into constellations, and reach glowing lines toward your cursor as you move across them, with the occasional shooting star.
  • Reliability & Display Fixes — Fixed the “has an accountability form” and “filled out the form” switches on a book's Reviews section not responding on phone, they'd tap but never actually slide on or off. They now toggle reliably (and the author-tagging switch too).
  • Dashboard Personalization & Fixes — The card transparency setting now affects every card on your phone dashboard. Currently Reading, Quick Actions, Calendar and Due Soon used to stay solid while the rest turned see-through, now they all match your chosen transparency.
  • Polish & Fixes — Tapping a book in the dashboard Due Soon card now opens its quick-action popup as a proper centered dialog instead of overlapping the card behind it.
  • ARC Library 3.0: Your Most Customizable, Beautiful Library Yet — On a computer it now fills the whole width instead of sitting in a narrow strip, and on your phone it opens as a smooth slide-in with a back arrow and a Contact button that gathers all your links in one tap.
  • Summer Premium Offer — For a limited time — until 7 June — pick up Premium at €3.99/month for the first three months. Tap the offer banner on your dashboard to claim it through Google Play.
  • Quick Polish Round — The top header is back on every iPad — the navigation bar no longer hides itself on tablets.
  • New Dashboard Cards, Editor Tools & iOS Launch — A tap-to-write slate at the bottom of the dashboard. Reminders, your reading mood, gift ideas — whatever you want. Saves automatically when you click away.
  • Drag-and-Drop TBR Ordering, Audiobook Covers & More — Click "Edit layout" on the desktop dashboard to enter edit mode — five reorderable cards (Reading Pace, Currently Reading, Book of the Day, Quick Actions, Monthly TBR; Due Soon also available as a swap) get a dashed outline and drag handle so you can drop them into any of the five slots: top-row left/middle/right and side-rail top/bottom. The Calendar stays fixed in the centre. Click "Done" when finished — your layout saves automatically.
  • Pre-Order Tracking & iOS Library Fixes — There's a new "Pre-Order" ownership status for books you've paid for or committed to buy but haven't received yet. Pre-orders sit alongside Purchased, Borrowed, Wishlist, and Gift — you can record the pre-order date, price, format, source, and edition; they get their own count on the dashboard, their own filter chip in the library, and their own banner color in the legend. Pre-orders also count toward your total spend.
  • Buy Buttons Always Available — The Amazon button now appears on every book, even when no specific product link has been saved. If there's no direct link, tapping Amazon will open a search for the book's title and author on Amazon — making it easy to find and buy any ARC you're tracking.
  • Cleaner Public Book Database — Title-Only Submissions Are Now Skipped — When you add a brand-new book that isn't already in the shared database, the app now requires at least one piece of real information beyond title and author — like an ISBN, description, cover, publication date, page count, publisher, series, genre, trope, audio details, or a purchase/review link. Title-and-author-only entries are no longer sent for moderation, which keeps the public book database cleaner and easier to verify. Your personal copy still saves normally either way.
  • Dashboard Calendar Quick Glance Mobile Layout Fix — When the dashboard width is narrow, Quick Glance now automatically switches from a side-by-side split to a stacked layout. This moves the weekly panel below the mini calendar and Due Soon section, keeping everything readable without forcing you into another calendar tab.
  • Library Loan Deadline Accuracy Fix — Fixed a deadline fallback issue where borrowed library and Libby books without a review due date could incorrectly pace against publication date. Due Soon and reading pace views now prioritize the loan return date, so your daily targets reflect the real return deadline.
  • Teams Card Layout Polish — Team cards now show the full team label in a cover ribbon, keep long team and author names readable without awkward truncation, move book or promo counts into cleaner image badges with stronger theme-aware contrast on mobile, use the shorter PR Co. ribbon label for PR Company cards so it stays on one line, disable hover-only card actions on mobile, reduce excessive mobile grid side spacing so cards have more usable width, display team artwork with the same centered audiobook-style cover treatment used in the library, and share the same lift-on-hover motion used across the library, Creator Hub, Book Database, and Form Catalog grids.
  • Android God Tier Rating Save Fix — Fixed an issue where selecting the God Tier crown rating could appear saved in the UI but fail to persist in your synced review data on Android. God Tier now saves consistently across ARC details and review editor flows.
  • Bug Reporting Flow Consistency Fix — Fixed inconsistent bug-report behavior by routing Tester Hub, Settings, Sidebar, and the mobile + menu to the same report modal. Submissions now save through one shared flow across every device.
  • iPad Layout & Subscription Flow Polish — On iPad and other tablets, the slide-out menu now stays fully visible above the bottom navigation, so Settings, Upgrade, and other items at the bottom of the drawer are always reachable.
  • iOS Subscription Switching Reliability Fix — Fixed an iOS issue where switching subscription plans (especially the "Get Unlimited Tracking" button) could show a loading message and require tapping twice. Plan switching now retries with fresh store offerings in the same action for a smoother checkout flow.
  • Account Deletion and Subscription Currency Fixes — Fixed an issue where scheduling account deletion could fail for some accounts due to a missing profile database field. Deletion requests now save correctly again.
  • Reader Finder, ARC Detail, and Library Polish — Reader Finder cards now handle missing profile info gracefully with a clear “profile in progress” state, so cards with limited data no longer feel blank or broken.
  • Community Reviews Sidebar on Book Pages — Public book pages now show average star and spice ratings from the ARC Library community in a dedicated sidebar — at a glance, see what readers think before you dive in.
  • iOS Sign-In Fixes & Subscription Polish — Tapping "Sign in with Apple" on iOS now brings up the native Apple sign-in sheet and signs you in instantly.
  • Mobile Bug Fixes & Search Reliability — Publication dates now appear on all library cards — even on compact mobile layouts where they were previously hidden.
  • Book Database Redesign & Code Quality — The Book Database is now search-focused! A big, prominent search bar greets you up front, with the last 30 recently added books displayed below. No more paging through tabs — just search and discover.
  • Bug Fixes & Reliability — Fixed an issue where star ratings could disappear after saving — your ratings are now preserved reliably.
  • Guided Onboarding, Rainbow Unicorn Tier & Profile Shine — New to ARC Library? Friendly hint bubbles now guide you through every corner of the app — from adding your first book to discovering hidden features. Hints are tailored to your subscription tier so you only see what matters to you.
  • Dashboard Glow-Up, New Theme & Smarter Pricing — Your dashboard got a glow-up! Accent stripes, refined card styles, and deeper theme integration make every visit feel like opening a beautifully bound book.
  • New Icons, Bug Fixes & Polish — We have introduced a set of new icons to enhance the visual experience and make navigation more intuitive. We will be adding more icons sets in future but currently we needed to switch to a new icon library for better performance and consistency across platforms.
  • Amazon Search, Apple Sign-In & Mobile Polish — We are taking book search to the next level with a brand-new search engine that prioritizes exact title matches, treats author names as separate keywords, and delivers more relevant results — no more sifting through unrelated books.
  • Public Book Pages, SEO & Reader Finder — Every book in the database now has its own shareable page with cover art, editions, store links, and metadata — perfect for sharing on social media or with your reading community.
  • Dashboard V2, Want-to-Buy & More — A brand-new desktop dashboard layout with a warm, card-based design — see your Reading Pace, Book of the Day, Currently Reading, Calendar, and customizable Shortcuts all at a glance. Toggle freely between V1 and V2.
  • Early Access Spots, Performance & Stability — The subscription page now shows how many Early Access spots remain in real time — grab yours before they're gone!
  • Creator Hub, Request Forms & iOS Support — PR & Marketing has been renamed to Creator Hub with new PR categories, platform mapping, and recurrence scheduling to plan your promotional content more effectively.
  • Tester Hub, Sidebar Revamp & Subscription Redesign — Tester and Early Access subscription tiers are now available directly through our website — no more Patreon needed!
  • Precision Progress, Overview Tab & Reliability — Track your reading with exact numbers instead of an imprecise slider. Type the exact page, audio time (hours + minutes), or percentage — and it auto-saves on the spot.
  • Mobile Experience Improvements — ARC Library is now available on the Google Play Store! Take your ARC tracking on the go with a fully native Android experience. Everything you love, now in your pocket.
