Version 4.1.0 brings 18 customer-facing changes to ARC Library. Role or platform labels appear only where a change is specific to that experience.
New
One Reading now card
Currently reading, the Now reading hero and the In your hands panel are now one Reading now card. Tap a cover tab to switch books, then slide or type pages, hours and minutes, or a percent. Reaching the end asks for your rating and review, with an Undo.
Statistics, rebuilt as an Almanac
Statistics now open with what needs you: unread ARCs past release, books waiting for a review and releases in the next 30 days. Then come your headline numbers, a monthly trend, top rated books, your tastes and progress rings, with every detailed card in Deep dive.
Fill missing info for a book
Choose Fill missing info on a book and we search our catalogue, Amazon, Kobo, Hardcover and ISBNdb for only the details it lacks. Each value shows its source, you untick anything you do not want, and nothing you already filled in is ever replaced. This is a Premium feature.
Switch themes from the menu
On phones and tablets the menu now opens with your current theme and a light or dark button. Tap it for a tray of every theme and pick one in a tap, or open All theme settings to preview Premium themes.
Hardcover joins book search
When you are signed in, searching by title or ISBN now also looks in Hardcover, so more books turn up with covers, page counts and series. Hardcover also helps fill gaps when you add a book.
Amazon store and store accounts on your copy
Books you got from Amazon can now say which Amazon store they came from. Note which Amazon, Kindle Unlimited, Audible or Kobo account a book lives on, kept private to you, and filter your Library by store or account.
Choose your profile header and decorator
The About you editor now lets you pick a profile header and decorator from the styles you own, and saves as you choose. If you have none yet, it points you to the Curiosity Shop.
Improved
Reading now fits any card size
On the Custom dashboard the Reading now card adapts to every size, from a slim strip to a wide card that shows several books side by side. It never scrolls inside the card, and book titles are never cut short.
A warm Lamplight frame on dashboard cards
Every dashboard card on phone and desktop now has a soft accent rim and a lamp glow in your theme’s colours. Turn Background glow off to keep the frame without the glow.
A page-turning book on progress sliders
Progress sliders now use one little book that turns its pages while you drag. The ARChie theme keeps ARChie and his scroll, and slider charms from the Curiosity Shop now show on every progress slider.
Customize goes straight to rearranging
On the Custom dashboard, Customize now opens rearranging right away. Background, Transparency and a link to Dashboard settings sit in the same bar.
ARChie settles into the Focused dashboard
On wide screens ARChie’s conversation now sits in the planning row, so the top of the Focused dashboard stays compact. On medium screens ARChie grows to fill his column beside Reading now.
Star ratings start at one star
Star ratings now go from one to five stars, with quarter steps in between. Spice ratings can still be zero.
Fixed
NetGalley import reads the mobile shelf
Copying or screenshotting your NetGalley shelf on a phone now finds your books. The mobile shelf has no dates, so those books arrive without archive dates.
Filling missing data saves reliably
Filling missing data across your Library now saves like any other edit. Changes show straight away, retry if the connection drops, and you see which books could not be updated.
One clear Retry when a save fails
If a change on a book’s details does not save on desktop, you now get a single message with a Retry button instead of several.
Curiosity Shop styles show on your profile
Banners, titles and frames from the Curiosity Shop now appear on your own profile as well. If you own the Gilt Frame, you can wear it on your Reader CV again.
Easier to read on busy backgrounds
On phones, every Statistics section, the dashboard greeting and the reading pulse line now sit on a card, so text stays readable over theme artwork.
