Terms of Service — ARC Library

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using ARC Library (“Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our Service. These Terms apply to all users, including free and paid subscribers.

2. Description of Service

ARC Library is a web application designed to help book reviewers, bloggers, and content creators manage Advanced Reader Copies (ARCs) and PR books. The Service includes features for tracking books, managing applications, recording reviews, and organizing promotional activities.

3. Account Registration and Security

3.1 Account Creation

  • You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account
  • You must be at least 13 years old to use this Service
  • One account per user; multiple accounts are prohibited
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials

3.2 Account Security

  • You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access or security breach
  • We are not liable for any loss from your failure to secure your account

4. Subscription Plans and Billing

4.1 Available Plans

  • Free Plan: Limited to 40 ARCs per year with basic features
  • Add Books Plan: 90 ARCs per year (40 free + 50 additional)
  • Premium Plan: Unlimited ARCs with all premium features

4.2 Billing Terms

  • Subscriptions are billed monthly or yearly as selected at purchase
  • Payment processing is handled securely by Stripe
  • All fees are non-refundable except as required by law
  • Prices are subject to change with 30 days’ notice
  • Free trials automatically convert to paid subscriptions unless cancelled

4.3 Cancellation and Refunds

  • You may cancel your subscription at any time through the billing portal
  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
  • You retain access to paid features until the end of your billing period
  • No refunds are provided for partial billing periods
  • Upon cancellation, you will be downgraded to the Free plan

5. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree NOT to use the Service to:

  • Violate any laws or regulations
  • Infringe on intellectual property rights
  • Upload malicious code, viruses, or harmful content
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
  • Harass, abuse, or harm other users
  • Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) without permission
  • Resell or redistribute the Service
  • Share account credentials with others

6. User Content and Data

6.1 Your Content

  • You retain ownership of all content you create in the Service
  • You grant us a license to store, process, and display your content to provide the Service
  • You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of your content

6.2 Data Backup

While we perform regular backups, you are responsible for maintaining your own backups. We recommend regularly exporting your data using the export feature.

7. Intellectual Property Rights

The Service, including its design, features, code, and branding, is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

8. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with: Stripe (payments), Google Books API (metadata lookup), and Supabase (database and authentication). We are not responsible for third-party service practices.

9. Affiliate Links Disclosure

ARC Library is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program. When you click on Amazon links within ARC Library, they may contain affiliate tracking tags. If you make a purchase through these links, ARC Library may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you.

ARC Library is also an affiliate of Bookshop.org. Purchases through Bookshop.org links may earn a small commission while also supporting independent bookstores.

10. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.

11. Service Modifications and Termination

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We may terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activities, or fail to pay subscription fees.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the United States. Disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration, except where prohibited by law.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time and will notify you of material changes. Continued use constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.
