Very, very good start to a new series. I was a little hesitant - Christmas before Halloween? But it was so, so good. I couldn't get enough. There are so many things about this book I like: Holly, Nick, Crinkshaw, Ronan, Marcy. The humor was SO good, I had to stop reading at points to write down quotes. It took a bit to finish (I was busy with a big test and college classes and work) but Blood and Bells was an incredibly wonderful read.
Crinkshaw was absolutely hilarious and everything I want in a ghoul friend. Ronan is the perfect mix of loyal and "I'll help you help chop up the body and hide it." 😂 Marcy was the best and her telling Holly to "stop looking at Gothic architecture" had me absolutely CACKLING. My favorite part is when Holly asked Ronan and Crinkshaw the modern thing they don't like; the postal service quip had me dying laughing. It was too much.
Nick was obviously perfect and incredibly funny. He is everything and more that I want in a sarcastic, charming, and devastatingly handsome vampire.
Holly was pure perfection. No notes! 💯
Honestly just read it. It's a cozy, fun, and silly Christmas story. I might have to do a re-read when December hits to get in the mood again. I'm so honored to have been an ARC reader for this amazing book. I can't wait to read the next one and return to Willow Creek!
