Honestly, I could not get enough of this book; I finished it in about week in-between my busy schedule as a parent, college student, and educator. I had to re-read the beginning chapter because I originally read it so fast that I couldn't comprehend anything 😂
The story was highly enjoyable, with an incredibly unique magic system I have yet to encounter in any other fantasy story. The world-building was phenomenal and I enjoyed learning more about it as Lira did. The characters were believable and had wonderful character development. The ending came with a twist you'd never see coming.
Unfortunately, I missed the pre-order window due to my busy schedule, but I plan on buying a physical copy to add to my bookshelf. With the large number of ebooks I have, only few have gotten a physical copy on my shelf, so this might give you an idea on how much I liked this book.
I cannot thank Kate enough for allowing me into her world as an ARC reader for this amazing novel. I cannot wait for the second book!
