Read your Dashboard — ARC Library Field Notes

Guide

Choose a calm Focused view or an adjustable Custom dashboard, then understand what every card is showing you.

The Dashboard is your opening view of current reading, upcoming work, and useful next actions. On a tablet or computer, use the Focused / Custom switch to choose how much you want to see at once.

Focused Dashboard

Focused is the calm, ready-made view. It chooses one useful next move for today, shows your current read and pace guidance, keeps Due Soon nearby, and gives you a rolling Next 7 days planner for deadlines and calendar events.

The planner starts with today, marked in your theme accent, then shows the next six days. Colored dots show which days have plans; on larger screens, titled event slips make the week easier to scan. Choose a populated day to open everything planned for that date, or open Full calendar when you need the complete calendar.

On big screens, Rude Little Maths takes two columns with Gentle Goals and Aspirations beside it. Below that, Link Station and Book of the Day get roomy cards; on a 27-inch screen, either Monthly TBR or Quote joins them. These extra glances appear only when the screen has room. Focused uses a fixed layout, so you do not rearrange its sections.

Adjustable Dashboard (Custom)

The adjustable option is called Custom in the app. It gives you a card grid that you can shape around your own routine. The Rearrange button appears only when Custom is selected. Choose it to drag cards into a new order, change each card's width or height, hide cards you do not need, or restore the default layout. Your choices save automatically and sync with your profile.

Resizing a card can change how much detail it shows. Hiding a card only removes it from the Dashboard; it does not delete books, dates, notes, links, or other saved information.

What each Dashboard card means

  • Today's Focus suggests the next useful reading or deadline action and keeps progress controls close.
  • Today is a broader daily digest with your reading status, current book, and useful places to jump next.
  • Currently Reading shows books in progress and lets you review or update their progress.
  • Reading Pace estimates the daily reading needed to meet tracked deadlines.
  • ARC Fit Calculator checks whether your unfinished To Review pile plus a possible new print, ebook, or audiobook can fit by the date you enter.
  • Due Soon brings upcoming and overdue review, promotion, return, and other tracked commitments together.
  • Calendar places review, promotion, publication, PR, and other saved dates on a calendar.
  • Monthly TBR shows the books planned for the current month and their progress. TBR management depends on your plan.
  • Book of the Day resurfaces one book from your Library for a fresh look.
  • Quick Actions keeps frequently used destinations and actions within easy reach.
  • Copy My Links turns the public contact and social links saved in Reviewer Desk into ready-to-copy destinations.
  • This Month's Intentions shows the gentle reading guardrails you chose, such as a request cap, rest day, or DNF allowance.
  • Yearly Goal summarizes progress toward your reading goal and related weekly or monthly targets.
  • Notes is a private Dashboard scratchpad for something you want to keep visible.
  • Timeline shows recent activity from your reading work.
  • Quote resurfaces quotes saved with your books. This card is available on the computer and tablet dashboard.

On your phone

Your phone has one scrollable, adjustable Dashboard instead of separate Focused and Custom pages. Today's Focus appears as a card alongside the rest of the mobile card shelf. Open Edit Dashboard to reorder or hide cards; the Focused / Custom choice applies to the tablet and computer Dashboard.

Cards can depend on your books, saved dates, plan, screen size, and preferences. A card with nothing to show may step aside or show a useful setup prompt. Your Library remains the complete source for your books even when a Dashboard card is hidden.
