ARC Library separates what is stored from what is shown.
Use Field visibility to choose which fields appear in forms and book sections. Hiding a field changes the interface; it does not delete the value already saved there.
Use Custom filters to create reusable Library views from the conditions you care about. Use Book defaults to pre-fill frequently used values when adding future books. Auto-fill dates on status change is on unless you switch it off. When it is on, statuses such as Currently Reading, Finished, Reviewed, Promoted, Requested, and Received fill their matching blank date with your local calendar day. Existing dates are never replaced, and every filled date remains editable. Switch it off when you prefer to enter every status date manually. Use Manage my lists to maintain private options you created.
If a book seems missing, clear active filters and check the current book-type tab before adding it again.
