I really liked the idea of this story and the amazing world-building, full of magic and strange creatures. But, I have to say, the first half of the book felt a bit off and rushed for my taste. I liked Linh and her complicated family. But her relationship with Elior, a prince and a complete stranger, felt a little forced, though maybe that was the whole point... (Spoiler!). Still, it could have been developed differently. I truly enjoyed the "almost" love triangle when Marcellus appeared, and they were fighting for Linh's attention.
There were a lot of funny situations, though there were mostly dark scenes around Linh, especially with her intrusive dark thoughts.
The ending is really intriguing, and I truly would like to know how this story continues š
