This was my first book by C.N. Caudle and she did not disappoint. One the story was great, she drew in with Vhaena's story she's an FMC you want to see win. She starts off as this timid girl just trying to stay in the shadows, by the end of the book she transforms into so much more. The tension between Vhaena and Daemon is so good, from their first encounter you can feel it, the burn was slow just how it needs to be. All thr layers and world building we done so well, the explanation of the Demons and the world that they come from was great as well, from the Ravens, roots and the lucky spoon.
