i am very lucky to have received this freida book as an ARC and im so happy i read it when i did!
this was definitely different from her other books but i liked it!! it felt like more of a semi-historical thriller/mystery that went back and forth between 1692 and the present time period.
so many of these characters pissed me tf off tho!!! ethel and molly were the bitchiest of bitches and sometimes i just wanted to smack julia and caroline upside the heads!
per usual with freida, there were so many twists and turns that kept me guessing, altho there were actually things this time around i happened to guess correctly beforehand, which isnt a huge deal but it happened more in this book than i think any of her other books
anywho, this is a great fall read with the witchy and paranormal elements tied into the thriller aspect of the book (and of course the cutest black cat, gideon🐈⬛)
