I have to start off by saying this was such a fun and super unique story. I did this as an immersive read and that is the way to do this book. Emma Wilder does the narration for the whole book you would NOT know that. Her male voice was that dang good!!
The book starts off on of the most wild (you see what I did there) and unique meet cutes. Cassie our veterinarian has had a bad go of it, divorced from her TERRIBLE ex and the lost her dream job at the zoo. She is driving into the small town of Aster Hollow where she comes across our MMC Noah and some towns folk in the middle of the road with an escaped TIGER and guns aimed at it. She pulls over and jumps out of her car and completely takes charge and helps get the tiger back into its transport kennel. Noah is a completely ahole to her during the whole time she is trying to help them get the tiger under control.
In this story you are not only getting so much laugh out loud moments but also so much emotional depth. Cassie has had a pretty tough life with neglectful parents who care more about appearances than her and marriage to an absolute Narcissist. Her husband was such an emotional abuser she lost all value of herself but she finally got free and left him which is how she ends up in Aster Hollow. Which there is also more to how and why she ends up in Aster Hollow but I don’t know any to give any spoilers.
You also have Noah who has gone through a traumatic experience and has let it affect his whole outlook, from how he lives his life to his relationships with friends and family.
Noah and Cassie had to do so much to learning and healing before they were finally able to be what each other needed to be and open up. There was so much laughter, love and heartache between the two of them. I absolutely every bit of this story that got us to our HEA.
