Book: Wicked Endeavors by Kamilah Cole

I picked this up at a recommendation from a friend and DAMN was that a good choice! Wicked Endeavors is another entry into Kamilah Cole's excellent growing canon of books about young women who won't just roll over and take what is thrown at them (and if you think they have, you haven't been paying attention). There are stark similarities between Wicked Endeavors and So Let It Burn as Cole explores the reality of colonialism and diaspora, and with Arcane Inheritance and racism and legacy (and trust oo).
Cole has a gift when it comes to prose that slaps you in the face and draws you in - like oh my god the first lines in her books have never not been perfect; and in this book we also get the line "A revolution is nothing if not anger left to kindle."
And isn't that just so true?
