Thank you to the Nerd Fam for the gifted ARC.
Although this should have ticked all my boxes, it missed the mark for me. I felt as confused as Soraya for most of the book and although I appreciate that some of this is probably intentional as its third person and Soraya has memory loss, it did leave me a bit lost. As much as I love why choose, I also found the meeting of the mates one day after another became a bit repetitive and although a couple of them stood out, by the end I was struggling to remember who was who.
That being said, I loved the relationship between Soraya and her two roommates, Jesmine especially. Jesmine was an absolute breath of fresh air in amongst all the spicy scenes and was a lot of fun. Similarly with the MMCs, although the are separate for most of the book when they get together there is definite tension and history within the group and it looks like Soraya is going to have her hands full sorting it all out.
My interpretation of the star system;
3 stars - I enjoyed it; would read the author again
4 stars - I really liked it; I am invested and definitely want more from this author/series
5 stars - I loved it; I engaged with this book completely until I finished it and it is one I will re-read
