Jace and Lennox's celebrity rivals-to-lovers romance had me in a chokehold. Their chemistry is immediate and SCORCHING.
I had so much sympathy for Jace, whose entire life has been dictated by his awful mother. Yes, he's an adult, but circumstances mean that when she says, "Jump!" he's expected to respond with, "How high?" At the end of the day, one could argue that she is the biggest obstacle Jace and Lennox have to overcome as a couple.
I really appreciated Jace's journey toward accepting his sexuality. It isn't perfectly smooth, which makes it feel that much more authentic. And when he finally realizes and accepts that what he's feeling for Lennox goes far beyond friendship or admiration for his craft? So satisfying.
And Lennox? His HEA is so hard-won, between a tragic backstory and some truly awful events orchestrated by others. He just wants to act and love Jace. Instead, he has to deal with lies and accusations that threaten his career and tear their relationship apart. I just wanted to give the tattooed hottie a huge hug and protect him from the world.
Together, Jace and Lennox really see each other. For every spicy scene between them, there are at least two emotional beats showing just how deeply their connection runs. They support each other through some incredibly difficult moments, and I fully believed they had what it takes to love each other well into the future.
This is definitely my favorite book by Berlin Wick. I can't wait to see what comes next.
