Frazzled working mom Cara's life is turned upside down after she starts hearing the Duran Duran song The Reflex. With the walls she built around her past crumbling Cara must face the ghosts of her past to understand her future and keep her family safe.
I found this to be such a unique and intriguing read. Theres lies, secrets, betrayals and an exploration of collective consciousness wrapped up in a story of a former CIA operative and mother.
There were certain aspects of that story that I wasn't in love with, for example the touchiness between the FMC and her male best friend (not her husband). While I do think Maria is using this as another way of exploring collective consciousness and empathy that part wasn't working for me.
Overall I enjoyed The Reflex and its unique nature as a mystery/thriller/spy story with supernatural/sci-fi vibes and I will definitely check out book 2 because I need to know what happens next!
