I'm so heartbroken...
What can I say about this book other than that it completely destroyed me... and I loved it!
With incredible "Arcane" and "The 100" vibes, Seasons of War kept me on edge till the very last sentence! What a depressing, obscure, and grim world this was.

With multiple POVs, we are able to read from really different perspectives, from an Empire soldier to a lonely rebel and a nameless marked woman. I really loved Lindsay's writing style, and each POV was unique and so enriching. I laughed, cried, yearned, mourned, and raged with them. I felt it all. Especially the parts full of despair; it was beautifully devastating, and I'm already thinking about book 2! And I'm not even over this book yet! I'm still thinking about Zayne and Kira, with Mellie in the middle; about Miya and Lance's new venture; and about Luke, the Phaedra, and all the Empire forces that are still looming over the citizens and their freedom.

Zayne has my heart, but he truly made so many bad decisions... and it was really frustrating to see him fail over and over again. His POV after "that" just completely broke my soul. Honestly, poor guy, he didn't catch a break, and he eventually ended up in such a messy situation. I'm hoping he gets some kind of break in book 2 (please, Lindsay..??), or at least gets away from his new lady! I hate her... sorry, but I really, really do.

So, if you're in the mood for a dark, really dark dystopian romance with tension, longing and yearning, a bit of a dysfunctional family, and a lot of gore... then this is your next read!
