I love Harper and this book shows how resilient she is as she navigates being betrayed by someone she trusts. Despite finding herself in dire straits she tackles it head on as usual and didn't let it break her. I never expected to laugh at the coffee and the bucket in that situation but I did!
As much as I love Harper, Rhys was the stand out character for me. He was so broken at the end of book two and I honestly felt like he deserved a bit of a grovel from Harper as that ultimatum was awful, especially when you find out how bad his past is. The whole series has felt very Rhys-centric, which I didn't mind as I found him really engaging, but it did mean that Clay faded a little the background a bit. Over the series it probably balances out, but I felt by the end I knew a lot more about Rhys than I did Clay although Clay also had his moments. My heart did melt a little at him learning sign language even if Rhys using it was my favourite part!
I loved the plotline that came out of nowhere (no spoilers!) as it injection some good old fashioned drama at just the right time and kept me engaged right to the end.
My interpretation of the star system;
3 stars - I enjoyed it; would read the author again
4 stars - I really liked it; I am invested and definitely want more from this author/series
5 stars - I loved it; I engaged with this book completely until I finished it and it is one I will re-read
