WHERE DO I EVEN BEGIN WITH THIS BOOK?!
I beta-read it, and that was an immediate yes from me, because Carmen knows how to write emotions.
Damian and Milo have my whole heart. I miss them so much already! No story has ever made me cry as much as this one. I was so emotionally invested in these two that I just wanted them to be happy, and every time things went wrong, my heart broke a little more.
Carmen's writing is beautiful, especially the poetic flashbacks and memories. Those made me cry the most. I resonated with both of them, but mostly Damian. Reading his story was also somewhat healing for me.
Is it a long book? Absolutely. Is it dialogue-heavy? Yes, but that's also what made it so much more emotional. I can't describe how much I care about these two. Every time I think of them, my heart breaks and heals a little at the same time.
These boys have a permanent place in my heart and on my shelf.
