My precious sleep was wrecked by Vow to Claim You by Amelia Kappe!
It's technically book two in the Gods of Corruption series, but it can easily be read as a standalone. If you are a sucker for secret societies, dangerous mafia men, forced marriage, and enemies-to-lovers, you gotta add this to your TBR.
The plot and the pacing were so flawless that I devoured the book in just a couple of days. The story follows Aric, a.k.a. The Viking, who's the cold and ruthless second-in-command of a secret mafia society. He is forced into marrying Ayanna, a foreign princess, who knows nothing of his world. To say they get off to a rocky start is a massive understatement because their fathers are basically sworn enemies. But watching Aric and Ayanna slowly (very slowly) fall for each other simultaneously? Pure perfection.
Amelia Kappe weaves a dark, intricate world packed with mystery, massive plot twists, and deep family betrayals. It really exposes just how cruel and callous people can be, even the ones who share your blood. This book gives you absolutely everything: intense passion, painful loss, absolute heartbreak, and beautiful happiness all wrapped into one. I definitely shed a few tears for Aric and Ayanna.
The sexual tension in this slow burn is agonizing. It is a massive push-and-pull dynamic, and I was dying for them to give in!
