Rina Kent just keeps on shocking me! This book focuses on the relationship between Teal and Ronan. Teal is the quiet, anti-social goth that everyone is convinced has a pact with Satan. Ronan is the goofball playboy that everyone loves. Now, I knew there would be more to Teal, she had a traumatic childhood that was clearly going to play a role in this story, what I did not expect was Ronan. While I figured that Teal has the dark side that would come out to play, I was completely blind sided by the darkness that lived in Ronan. While the previous books in this series had the MMC as the total darkside of the relationship, with the exception of Xander and Kim being eachother’s light, Teal and Ronan consume eachother’s darkness and thrive on it. As always, Rina Kent has an amazingly delicate and appropriately shocking way to explore childhood trauma and its impact on the victims as they grow up. I was shocked by the revelations in this book, and completely statisfied with how Teal and Ronan’s story wrapped up in the end. Definitely check out the trigger warnings beforehand.
