Book: Vicious Miscreations by Jenn Neal

Vicious Miscreations is an utterly savage, high stakes descent into Topensi, a world that is choked by sentient, man eating plants. This debut novel by Jenn Neil is utterly addictive and had me demolishing it in two sittings! Neal’s pacing is tight, her worldbuilding vivid, and her characters unforgettable.
The story is chaotic in the best way and driven by a group of volatile misfits who initially feel just as dangerous as the world they are trying to survive. However, we soon learn that this ragtag team are the perfect found family that help one another overcome the traumas of their past. Which is good, because they seem to have a way of causing absolute chaos wherever they go! I think the only stable character in the group is actually the little tabby called Wattie who has some real main character energy!
Vicious Miscreations is a brutal and brilliant first installment in The Fractured Worlds series. It’s an action packed, queer, botanical dystopian with a found family you can truly get behind. This debut novel marks Jenn Neal as a fantasy author to watch!
