Book: Veil of Blood and Bone by Brea Viragh

I had a great time reading this. To begin with there was a glossary for the unfamiliar words, but not a pronunciation guide to go with it though. The words were from the Norse Mythos so I had heard/saw most of them before. So with the glossary in hand the book is already off to a great start.

It is a story of rebirth, soul mates and memories(remembered and forgotten). We have our three leading men Forest, a raven shifter, Wren, a dark Fae, and Nicholas, a vampire. We also have our leading lady, Helene, and her sister, Audra. Helene is the lost love of the three men, it's a cycle they can't beat, and Audra is also reborn with Helene in every life. The story starts with a Viking festival in the little town the girls are living in. A troll decides to crash the party and Helene and Forest, as a raven, kill it together. Standing in the shadows of the woods nearby is Wren, he is content to watch at the moment.
The shadows belong to me. I linger inside them, watching her, hard as fuck already. -Wren
Nicholas is also lurking in the woods, they are there if they are needed, but it's just a little troll.
Then another troll, and Forest gets his memories back that he loses every time she dies, like some sick joke by the gods. Audra has two visions, at one point Wren goes looking for the thin spot in the veil between worlds and he finds kittens from Jötunheimr, he calls them murder kittens.
It's all too much and Helene runs, taking Audra with her. But the gods have other plans and don't want her to leave...
There is so much to enjoy about this book. Helene has moxie, Forest is fire, Wren is seductive, and Nicholas is brooding. I loved it and can't wait for book two
