After the ending of The Hanging Heart, I didn't think i could be more devasted by the cliffhangers of this series. Obviously, I was wrong.
I absolutely LOVE all the different POVs we get in this book. It just makes the world that much more expanded feeling. I'm not just seeing it from one person's perspective, and so it doesn't feel as linear.
Elorie is still one of my favorite characters, but Greer is right after her. I love this look inside the mind of her, because before she was just a sassy girl with a tragic past. But to see her quite literally still living through her trauma, brings much more depth to her.
I did not anticipate the twist at the end. There was an entirely different ending I had imagined, and was half expecting. But now it makes me want to go back and re-read and see if I missed anything in context that will tide me over till the next book!
