Novellas can be hard to pull off, but Unwritten by the Gods does it beautifully.
This story packs an emotional punch far bigger than its page count. The anxiety representation felt thoughtful and real, and as a mom, I especially loved how fiercely Maera protects Brilyn. That bond hit extra hard for me.
Maera is incredible in her own right as well - she’s fierce, loyal, and deeply human. Caty Rogan gives her so much depth in such a short space, and now I am desperate for answers about Brilyn and how she is able to do what she does.
Short, powerful, and memorable.
