I am breathless at the beauty and stunning storytelling Israh Azizi does with Until the Sand Claims Us. From two opposing nations in the desert, Yildiz and Dayyan cross paths when she is tasked with taking the place of her cousin, a Southern princess, in an arranged marriage with a Northern prince, Dayyan’s brother. From there, it is a fine line to walk as neither wish for any of this to happen but both are hiding secrets of their own.
This dual pov standalone is just what I needed. The world is beautiful from start to finish and the diction paints a gorgeous tapestry in this enemies-to-lovers story between Yildiz and Dayyan. There’s political intrigue and the slowburn is so well balanced between the characters as they navigate one another and the world around them.
Thank you so much to Behind the Pages PA and Israh Azizi for the gifted ARC! All opinions are my own.
