Devoured this book in 2 days and couldn't wait to see what happened. This story picks right up where we left off from Book 1 with the utter betrayal. But you finally get answers on why. Selena is still captive of the Iceheart Dynasty and attached to Draven as his personal magic conduit. Selena is bound to find a way out of the castle to help the Fae/Human Resistance in order to help her people. But she struggles with her feelings for Draven in her attempts to find her way. Selena finds a way to make contact with the Fae resistance and the Human rebellion to begin to pass information about the Iceheart's and their plans and the location of the treasury. She finds herself into a few bits of trouble along the way, but Draven seems to save her despite it.
Without revealing any spoilers the story takes an insane plunge into chaos and lines are drawn. What happens next threw me for a total loop and I was not prepared for what happened. The ending left me gasping. I immediately need book three to find out what happened in that insane last dragon battle!
This series has me in a chokehold. I love the writing style and the storytelling. If you love a Broody Dragon Shifting Dark Commander with a " MINE " protective nature and a resilient FMC who refuses to give up no matter how many times people count her out... then you need to pick up this series immediately.
