This was one of my most coveted ARCs. Like I offered up a kidney or my firstborn child. Didn’t end up having to give up either, but this book was absolutely worth the offer. I love bodyguard romances and this was a bodyguard romance with a dash of intrigue and mystery. I loved both Roman and Tate. I’d hesitate to call it grumpy / sunshine simply because Roman wasn’t grumpy so much as he was bearing the weight of his entire family and where he came from. But that’s me psychoanalyzing characters again. Tate was the push Roman needed to make a decision he already knew was the right one.
The smut was top tier. I love Roman’s solution of “if you need to get laid, you come to me”. He had a Tate-sexual awakening and never looked back. I’m always here for bondage and size difference. The car scene will live in my head rent free for a while. I loved there was no Third Act Breakup. It was the right amount of sexual tension before they snapped. A+
Now I’m gonna go back and read the rest of the series as I eagerly await Maks’ installment. Easy 5 stars and 100% reread.
