Book: Truthbound: What Lies Unspoken by Kiki Hardt

Can we talk about how surprisingly incredible this book was, especially for a debut novel?! Because Kiki Hardt came out swinging, and this story had SO many of the things I love most. Truthbound delivered so much of what I look for in a fantasy read. 🖤📚
I absolutely loved the pacing, and the way the plot unfolds, weaving in subtle little details that seem insignificant at first but eventually come together in ways that make you appreciate how carefully everything was crafted. I was never bored or lost along the way and loved that it was so easy to imagine being in an assassins creed type citadel world. 👌
The character dynamics, the tension, the gradual development of everything — it leaned a little more toward the YA side, but that didn’t take away from how much I enjoyed watching it all unfold.
Then we have the animal sidekick, who deserves a standing ovation of their own. 🦊 Not only was this little sly fox an absolute delight, but there were a few surprises along the way that made me appreciate them even more. Add in the hilarious, goofy side characters who bring so much personality to this found family, and honestly, I was having the best time. 😂👏
Thank you so much @ kikihardt.author for allowing me to be part of the ARC team, and if this is what you’re bringing to the table with your debut, I am absolutely excited to see what comes next. ✨
