The truth as a weapon. As a curse. As a gift. As a nightmare. The truth cuts down entire kingdoms, or gives hope to the downtrodden. Truth holds power. And in The Truth-Teller’s Bargain it’s the only power that is the difference between victory or utter annihilation.

Camille Wolfewood built an incredible world filled with political intrigue and a power that isn’t often used in a fantasy setting, truth. Whether that’s fortune-telling or how those prophecies are wielded, it’s the only weapon that can’t be corrupted but can be used by the corrupted.

Alethea is a princess who has only known her life continues only as long as her gift is useful to her mother, the Queen. Made into a tool and pushed to her limits for the sake of protecting the kingdom from being overthrown, she is surrounded by people and utterly alone. A split-second decision to escape the castle to clear her head lands her on a very different path than where she started.

The Truth-Teller’s Bargain is filled with action. At no point did my heart rate chill out while I was reading this. It felt like it flew by and then all of a sudden I was on the last page! I have to know what happens next for Alethea!

This one is an easy five stars. I loved the world, I loved the magic system and the lore. It was so easy to get completely lost in the story, I didn’t want to come back to reality! Grab this one and read it now, I hear there’s a sequel coming soon!
