Heidi Grant is a sports physical therapist and when she has the chance to create her own studio helping support athletes, she takes it. She may have the credentials and plans but she does not have the funding. Viktor Karlsson is a Swedish NHL player and he has funds but he needs a wife for his plans to work. Enter a marriage of convenience that clearly outlines expectations and goals in the form of a contract. But what happens when more than just goals are formed?

Top Shelf has all the things I want in a hockey romance and more, however, I had a harder time with this novel than I expected. The writing is solid and I love all the imagery as well as the insights to each of the characters thoughts, and the supporting characters are an absolute delight. But, I don’t know if it was the story itself, the way Heidi and Viktor’s relationship progressed/developed, but I struggled to connect with the novel. That being said, I do look forward to the next book in the series and can’t wait to see how that plays out.

Thank you so much to Luna Literary Management and Hailey Rodger for the gifted ARC. All opinions are my own.
