Firstly, I would like to thank Rina Larsen for the advanced copy of her book.
Please note, all opinions are my own.
Crimson Obsession certainly lived up to it's title. The level of obsession was off the charts. It was intense and raw.
I do feel that the book fell down when it came to the plot, pacing, and the characters. These areas each, in my opinion, needed to be developed further.
The pacing was hit and miss in so much that the points that I wanted more of, that could have had a deeper impact, felt rushed.
I found it hard to develop any form of attachment with the characters, which in turn, caused me to never fully buy into the story. There was no real meaningful grow.
I felt the plot focused much too heavily on the obsession, to the detriment of the rest of the story.
Despite all of this, Crimson Obsession is a promising read, and I very much enjoyed Rina Larsen's style of writing, which flowed effortlessly.
