It took me a while to get sucked into this book. Over the course of the book, our cast of characters is planning an escape from prison. There were a number of times that I lost some of the stakes/immersion/reality of this while reading, as it felt like the main group was frequently chatting about their plans pretty openly, generally without a lot of concern or consequences. Similarly, once the two main characters started fooling around, it seemed really unbelievable that they were never caught when doing so.

I did enjoy the overall story, and would continue on with the sequel, but don't know that I'll be rushing out to buy it on the first day it's out.

Thanks to the author, Avon, and NetGalley for providing an ARC of this book!
