I loved Quicksilver and was so excited to read Brimstone! This book picks up right where QS ends and does not relent. Saeris has just turned half Fae and half Vampire. You follow as she navigates this new life as the Vampire Queen and the court of nobles and peers does not make it easy on her. But Saeris is a bada$$ and does not give into their backhanded comments and actions. While Fisher stands at her side protective as always, what I love is he allows her the grace to find her balance and her way of handling things without pushing her into things she does not or is not ready for. On top of learning how to become this societies Queen, there is something dark coming that's going to overtake the lands they love. Saeris not only has to learn about her new powers, but she finds out there is more to her powers than ever thought before. Carrion Swift in this book continues to be his amazing, hilarious self. I enjoyed his banter and in this book you get more dynamic between him and Fisher. There are so many good moments between the side characters and we even meet a few new ones that I adore.
The connection and need between Saeris and Fisher in this book was everything you love between a couple. The spice is there and Fisher has STILL GOT IT, Friends!!
Overall, I really enjoyed this book! There are a lot of things happening and some of them may not make sense at the beginning or even the middle, but by the end things make so much more sense and then you get a major PLOT TWIST. There were several moments that I got emotionally caught up and Callie did us dirty towards the end. IYKYK...I sobbed for a hot minute. I am so glad I read this with my Bestie and now I am biting at the bit to read book 3 later this year.
