Book: Dark Is When the Devil Comes by Daisy Pearce

This story finds a newly divorced woman name Hazel who’s been forced to move back to her hometown and in with her parents. She’s hoping to take this time to lay low and possibly reconnect with her estranged sister, Cathy. Venturing out of the house she is approached by a man whom seems to be friendly. Unfortunately, she misjudged him. He captures her and holds her in the basement of a beat up old house that nobody knows about, deep in the woods. She soon finds that she may not be the only person locked in this house. Strange things start to happen.
This book had me wanting to ignore my adult responsibilities and do nothing but read. The author describes the dismal basement and run down house so well that I felt like I was there with Hazel. It is fast paced and wonderfully creepy. I did not know what was going to happen in the end until I got to the end.
