I am grateful to be able to ARC read this book.
The story starts out a little slow and a little clunky. I really enjoyed a lot of the secondary characters. Elara‘s two besties are hilarious. And so are Rylan’s two besties. I love the tension between Elara and Rylan. However, Elara is a little bit annoying.
The last 20% of this book is where the real action happens. The other 80% is building up to that moment.
The ending… What the hell was that? It just stopped.
There was something about the writing that just prevented me from truly enjoying the book. The friends I read it with enjoyed it more than I did. It wasn’t bad it just wasn’t what I was expecting.
7/10 recommend.
