Delvin is a former crime boss who lost everything. Book 1 contains that story. Book 2 finds him being kidnapped by another crime boss who thinks he killed his father. Cian inherited his father's empire after his father's murder. He decided to go after Delvin because he thought that's what he needed to do. Delvin and Cian form a bond and fall in love. They navigate their past and try to fight for their future. This story is kind of redemption arc for Delvin, but it doesn't absolve him from everything he has done. He knows what he has done and doesn't believe he deserves forgiveness. The bond between Delvin and Cian is so strong, and Cian fights so hard to make sure Delvin knows he deserves happiness with him. They healed each other.

I enjoyed this book so much. I loved the dynamic between Delvin and Cian. Some of the book was dark, but there was a lot of humor in it as well. Delvin is such a golden retriever, even though he had such a brutal story before. I strongly recommend this book and book 1. If you are a lover of a dark romance with enemies to lovers and a possessive MC, you will love this one.
