I received an eARC from NetGalley and Forver! This review is entirely independent and reflects my opinion.
This was one of my most anticipated reads of the year, and it did not disappoint! I loved Bovalino’s writing style and despite the length of the book, This was a book that I savored, and it was worth every minute! The world building, magic system, twists and turns, and romance kept me hooked! I loved Nore and her development as a Lindan spy. The dual timeline between the “before” and the oresent was an amazing way to bring together Nore and Caspian’s story.
I also loved how the events of the Second Death of Locke tied into this book! This series is marketed as interconnected standalones, I thought the plot was very involved with previous characters. The story does standalone since the events of book 1, but I liked that I knew the full backstory and got to see characters from the first book again! I absolutely loved reading this book and cannot wait to read the upcoming third book of this trilogy!
