Book: The Swan's Daughter by Roshani Chokshi

This started off strong with an animated library and I was so optimistic for where this story was going. Unfortunately I only made it 13% of the way through before realizing that this book/author are not for me. The prose in this very flowery and overly done. I do love beautiful prose, but characters, plot, world-building all matter much more to me, and this felt like those didn't matter nearly as much as the prose. I found some of the magic to be very strange, things like sentences collapsing under the stress of being observed, the wyvern leaving poetry behind itself wherever it walked. It seemed like things being written for the sake of being written, and unfortunately that wasn't working for me. As a result, this was an early DNF, and I do not plan to pick up more from this author.
This was very hard to consume via audio, but I'm not sure I'd have made it through even with an eyeball read (at least not without heavy skimming. It was really hard to keep track of the names of the daughters and who is who, and which things are happening to which daughters.
