Book: I'm The Worst by Saige Parker

An amazing 6-STAR read for me and I fear I will never be able to reclaim my heart from Wolff & AJ. The emotional ride that this book takes you on. Saige does a phenomenal job writing and creating her characters within the Sovereign Universe. Her MMC's are dark, haunting and completely pitch black. The unhinged nature of their characters is what makes each one unique in their story. This story follows Wolff Maddox, who is known for his aversion to touch and he doesn't do rescues. Until one day he gets an offer he can't refuse to save the daughter of one of his superiors. Normally he would walk away and never entertain the offer, but this offer could give him more control over his future and that's something that Wolff can't walk away from.
I could tell you the journey Wolff takes to mount an extraction rescue of AJ, but it's hard to put into words the depth of this story without spoiling the journey I feel everyone must take on their own. I have loved every one of Saige's books in this universe so far, but next to Priest from (Made for Death), Wolff barged his way into my soul. AJ, the female FMC in this book captured my heart. The depths of suffering she endures at the hands of some really horrible people, left me speechless and heartbroken so many times. The amount of tears I shed in this book was so high, I thought they wouldn't stop. If you know me, I am an emotional reader and when a book evokes emotions from me, I am wholly invested even if I know it will be to my emotional ruin.
This story is not for the weak at heart, please be sure to check your Trigger Warnings. It's not your typical rescue love story by any means. It's gritty, raw, infuriating, gut wrenching and it will make you wonder how these two will ever survive their life or each other. I will forever recommend this story with tears in my eyes and love in my heart for the pair. Thank you, Saige, for the beautiful stories you create even in a world that is brutal and hard. You still find a way to make us love them with our whole heart and soul and I am forever a reader of what you write.
