5⭐️ 2.5🌶 Favorite ARC of 2026 so far!
Such a perfect pick up to the snippet of this that could be seen in Behind the Bench. It's not insta-love but it is close. Can not say I LOVE this book enough! Sadie, Sadie, Sadie..... how in the world are you so relatable! The self doubt and stress caused by her family hit me right square in the feels. And her attention to Sophia, absolutely pulled the heartstrings. Niko being the single dad and feeling like a burden to everyone when it came to putting her daughter first. That is an all to familiar scenario. He truly is a great father, and he is willing to admit he's got some hangups due to his ex-wife. No matter what he puts Sophia first and that is admirable. When these two meet, it is on like almost immediately and everyone can see it but them. Absolutely love the goats mentioned every couple of chapters. The moments of spice are written extremely well and timed appropriately. The banter that develops between Niko and Sadie are fantastic. The reunion scene is amazing and the ending is just perfect for setting up, what I hope, is the next book. Connor & the mystery, Avey, hopefully!
