I can't imagine being a human pawn ♟️ in order to keep the peace between the Vampires 🧛 and humans. I don't think Vastion was quite prepared for Esiree. The banter between the two had my pulse pounding, and my soul sucking in the words like my life depended on it (pun intended).
Vastion puts off Mr. Darcy vibes that has me falling more in love with him with each chapter. And Esiree definitely channels Elizabeth Bennet's fierce outlook of life and remaining firm in her beliefs.
