Erika is a fish out of water when the big pitch she makes for her advertising firm in Chicago doesn’t go as well as she hoped. At the same time, she finds out that her Great-Aunt Josie has left a bit of property for her in Blitzen, Kentucky, so what’s she to do but to pack up and head out there? Blitzen is a small town who also has one of the most eligible bachelors, Kourt, who is not only the basketball coach but also a member of the Volunteer Fire Department. As the Christmas season kicks in, Erika is determined to help the town get back into the Christmas spirit.
This is a cute and cozy holiday story but I’d be lying if the tension between Erika and Kourt didn’t frustrate me at times. That being said, it's Erika and Kourt’s best friends who caught my attention and made me very happy and excited to see them every time they entered the page. When Archer and Helen are around, it’s never a dull moment and it’s so fun to see Erika and Kourt through the eyes of their friends.
