The Foster Child by Karen King pulled me in pretty quickly because there was such an uneasy feeling around the story from the beginning. I kept wondering who I could trust and whether I was reading certain characters completely wrong. That made it really easy to keep turning the pages.

The family dynamics were probably the most interesting part for me. There was a lot of tension underneath the surface, and I liked how the story kept revealing little things that changed how I looked at what was happening. A few of the twists surprised me, which is always a plus because I read a lot of thrillers and can usually guess where things are going.

This was a quick, suspenseful read that kept me interested all the way through. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes psychological thrillers centered around family secrets and complicated relationships.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an advance copy in exchange for an honest review.
