Book: The Cuffing Game by Lyla Lee

In this young adult rom-com, Mia, a film student, sets out to produce a show during her freshman year in college. She has to recruit the help of Noah, the celebrity influencer that she goes to school with… and happens to have a crush on. Instead of facing that, she creates a show called The Cuffing Game, which is a matchmaking game with a reality TV flair. Not exactly what Mia had in mind, but she’s all in. Meanwhile Celine, her roommate, was the one who nominated Noah to be a contestant, hoping to get a shot with the swoon worthy star. It’s giving k-drama.
This lighthearted read was both adorable and fun. The characters were easy to fall in love with. I enjoyed the Asian representation with our main characters, who have roots in South Korea and the queer characters, including Mia, who identifies as bi. It’s a no spice, high vibe story, appropriate for all readers. It was paced well. I binged through it in less than a day! If you need a pick me up, pick up The Cuffing Game!
