Very Christmasy. Took a bit to get into with certain characters feeling stiff. Once the story got rolling, it was a good flow. Mia and James are coworkers at the Willow Creek. Mia is the new headmistress, and James the art teacher. Mia has ideas she wants to bring to the school. These ideas are halted when an individual with the school board sends a cease letter to prevent using any funds that would come from the school. The two persist, and then hit with notices of contracts being reviewed. Mr. Markenson, is the douche canoe behind all of it. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Mia wants to bring soccer to the school, James's son, Jake is interested, even though he knows his dad wouldn't like the idea. This is when the relationship building starts and it's done quite nicely.
There's a mystery in the reasoning behind the upheaval, and it is explained quite well. Almost leaves the end open for another book to continue reasonings.
