Book: The Hanging Heart by Eva Simmons

To begin, this book drew me in. I was so intrigued by the idea of a Fae prison that only humans could enter and leave from 'safely'. Our FMC lives on the same island and the prison, and she tends to the dead; burning corpses, saying final rights, giving their souls the best chance possible to pass to the After.
I love that she is strong willed. At some points, she does start to feel inadequate, but she always finds her voice and remembers where she came from. The writing itself was very fluid, I never really found myself going back and re-reading a sentence to make sure I read things right (as long as you don't count re-reading because i ADORED a line).
I'm so curious about the universe that Eva Simmons has created. The idea of two realms that have collided and are both being drained is so exciting. I want to know about the world of Wilder, because it seems to be vastly different from what we see so far.
The Hanging Heart truly has all the things that get me going in a book. I love almost anything to do with celestial magic, I love stories with Fae & Magic, and I love the idea of multiple realms and being able to traverse them.
Not to mention, the scene on the beach! (ā⢠༠ā¢ā)*:dć Ugh, my heart couldn't handle that. If you think that this is something that sounds right up your alley, I highly suggest giving it a try. I know I am late in giving my ARC review, but I would have promoted this book muchh more because that is how much I enjoyed it.
I received a copy of this book as an ARC. I am late in posting, but all thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you to The NerdFam for the opportunity to read and review this book.
