I shall send my therapy bill to the author because I bawled my eyes out over this book!
It’s a short 250-ish pages long story. I loved this take on vampires and witches: a society built around old traditions and festivals, people trying to achieve peace and communication amidst radicals who, of course, are always trying to cause problems or wars.
The characters are endearing; you quickly get attached to them, learn their dynamic, and follow their footsteps. The story is fast-paced; I didn’t even think it would be wrapped up by the end. The author nevertheless managed to keep me hooked until the end. I wanted to know how it would end.
But damn it, did I cry...
Why make me care so much about some characters only to kill them? It’s not fair! Some will think it’s not a big deal, not that sad... Blame the cycle or the moon or whatever...
I’m still sniffing and sobbing as I write my review.
