English teacher Harry gets roped into chaperoning a youth hockey team coached by P.E. teacher Darius—the bane of his existence. Forced to share a hotel room (with only one bed, of course), Harry starts to realize that Darius isn’t who he thought he was… and that maybe all of that teasing was hiding bigger feelings Darius didn’t know how to admit.
This was a delightful, short, and spicy read. It’s the perfect length, keeping the story fresh while still allowing the HEA to feel earned.
I love Darius. Yes, teasing the person you’re crushing on is juvenile, but once he makes his intentions clear to Harry, he is all in. He does the work, shows up, and proves that it has always been Harry.
And Harry’s buttoned-up energy paired with being the more sexually experienced one? Yes. Please. I love when expectations are subverted, and this sexy, confident nerd absolutely delivered.
