Teaching Magic follows Nyine Hunter as she navigates a new path as an instructor at a magical military(?) school. Though there are individuals who don’t look too kindly upon her subject matter, she forges ahead despite her own misgivings. The relationships she ends up building between various faculty, staff, students, and visiting friends keep her persevering. This is the perfect cozy magic school read if you are looking for something a little different but still very adventurous.
I really have to thank Alanna Cole, for reaching out and gifting me this opportunity to read Teaching Magic. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from this story but it is such a delight from the realities of my actual day-to-day life as an actual teacher. While I don’t work at a magical school, the intricacies between various interactions and relationships between members of a school community are pretty spot on while the scenes and antics of the school board couldn’t be more perfect. I had an excellent time in the world of Manipulating Magic and I’m already looking forward to sinking in to the rest of the series!
Thank you so much to Alanna Cole for the gifted ARC! All opinions are my own.
