Where is Whoopie Goldberg to follow Maggie around going "You in danger, girl." Because, honestly, that's the tagline for this series. Maggie, girl, you in danger, AGAIN.
This time, someone is going around killing women who look EXACTLY like her in the area surrounding Port Grey and she's like, eh, this has nothing to do with me. "It's not a me problem," she says/ Officer Graham - report for DUTY.
Except, after the events at the end of Deadly Bloom, he's still off doing ... whatever he's been doing... and now Maggie has a live-in boyfriend of a dubious nature.
Let's roll the dice, friends. We have another mystery to solve.
This gets far spicier than book one did, there's a lot of Christmassy, Yuletide insanity, and the whole family gets in on the drama. I really didn't believe it when I got to the big reveal because this one just FLEW by.
I cannot wait for book three because this cliffy? Insane. Literally, jaw on floor. Sadie J. Foxx did me dirty by leaving us hanging on this one.
The character development in this one is heavy, the trigger warnings - read them! - and I am loving seeing where we're going with Maggie. She's going through some stuff, but I see her becoming a whole new person by the end of this series but man, she's taking a rough route.
I can't WAIT to go back to Port Grey!
